Penn Aided The Release Of Americans

September 25, 2011 by charmie

It's a Sunday and there is nothing much to do. I don't have to work on all those dissertation stuff since I firmly believe that work should be left at the office though I do have plenty of thesis to accomplish. I also don't have any meetings with my friends and family that I used to have. And lastly there is not much news as well.

Well that is except for the fact that the main headlines for today in newspapers and in the television is the release of the Americans. According to reports actor Sean Penn actively helped in the release of the two American who have been held in Iran for almost two years now. He reportedly flew all the way to Venezuala to ask president Hugo Chavez to intervene with Iran's leader.

For those who are wondering as to why and how Penn was able to talk to Chavez, well the two have long known each other. It goes as far as Chavez suggesting that Penn be the next ambassador to his country. Well that's about it. I'm glad that the two prisoners have been freed. All is well that ends well!
